How to claim it

    Open cursor.com/pricing and switch the toggle from Monthly to Yearly. Pro should show $16 / mo.

  2. 02

    Pick Pro, Pro+ or Ultra, click the Get button and pay through the Stripe checkout with a credit or debit card.

  3. 03

    Already paying monthly? Go to cursor.com/dashboard/billing and click Upgrade Now on the green banner at the top.

  4. 04

    Check cursor.com/dashboard/billing afterwards. That is where Cursor shows your plan, invoices and renewal.

The catches

  • You commit to a year. Cursor has no way to switch back to monthly mid-plan; you can only schedule the switch for the end of the yearly period.

  • Refunds only apply if the charge was in the last 14 days and you haven't used the plan in that period.

  • Included usage on individual plans still resets monthly. Usage past it is billed as on-demand usage.

  • Prices exclude any applicable taxes.

Questions

How much does Cursor yearly billing save?

Pro is $16 instead of $20 a month ($48 a year). Pro+ is $48 instead of $60 ($144 a year). Ultra is $160 instead of $200 ($480 a year). That is 20% on each.

Can I move from monthly to yearly billing?

Yes. On cursor.com/dashboard/billing, click Upgrade Now on the green banner at the top.

Is there a Cursor student discount?

No standing one. Cursor's students page says to look out for promotions at its on-campus and online events this fall.

Can I buy Cursor anywhere other than cursor.com?

No. Cursor says subscriptions are only sold directly through cursor.com, and accounts bought from any other source may be suspended or terminated.

Is there a cheaper Cursor plan in India?

Yes. Cursor Start costs ₹649/month with tax for developers in India. It is monthly only and uses Cursor's own models.
