How to claim it

  1. 01

    New to Cursor: go to cursor.com/signup and select the Start plan during onboarding. Already on Hobby: sign in and pick Start from your dashboard or the pricing page.

    Verify an Indian phone number when asked.

  3. 03

    Pay in INR with UPI or an Indian credit or debit card. With UPI you approve a monthly autopay mandate in your UPI app at checkout.

  4. 04

    Check cursor.com/dashboard for your remaining Start usage once the plan is active.

The catches

  • Cursor's own models only (Grok 4.7, 4.6, 4.5 and Composer 2.5) at fixed medium effort. No Auto mode and no models from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google.

  • When the monthly usage pool runs out, AI features pause until the next billing cycle. There is no on-demand spend.

  • Monthly billing only, with auto-renewal. Annual billing is not available for Start.

  • Once you upgrade to Pro, Pro+, Ultra or Teams, you can't go back to Start.

  • Bugbot, the Cursor SDK and Automations are not included.

No. Cursor says Start is available to developers in India only, and availability may expand to select regions over time.

Can I pay for Cursor Start with UPI?

Yes. Cursor recommends UPI for reliable renewals. Indian credit and debit cards also work, with 3D Secure authentication.

Cursor says Indian card payments sometimes fail because of bank declines or 3DS challenges. Try UPI or a different card.
