If you study or work in India, three official offers stand out right now: Google AI Plus at $0 for 12 months for university students, Cursor Start at ₹649 a month, and yearly billing on Suno, Grammarly and Wispr Flow, which cuts the monthly rate by 20% or more. Several well-known US student offers don't reach India at all. Every rupee price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, checked between September 25 and October 2, 2026.

What doesn't reach India

The ChatGPT Plus student offer is limited to students in the US, and OpenAI's Codex credits are limited to the US and Canada. Google AI Pro for students is a US college offer too. Indian students get Google AI Plus instead, covered below.

Perplexity Education Pro does work in India, but it bills Indian users in US dollars. Rupee billing isn't available yet.

How to claim

Google AI Plus for students

University students aged 18 and over qualify, and the offer has to be redeemed by December 31, 2026.

  1. Open gemini.google/in/students and click the claim button.
  2. Sign in with your Google account and verify that you're an eligible student.
  3. Add a payment method to finish.

After 12 months the plan renews at ₹399 a month unless you cancel. The Google AI Plus deal page has the full walkthrough.

Cursor Start

  1. If you're new to Cursor, sign up at cursor.com/signup and choose Start during onboarding. If you're already on Hobby, choose Start from your dashboard.
  2. Verify an Indian phone number.
  3. Pay with UPI or an Indian card.

Start costs ₹649 a month including tax and is billed monthly only. Details are on Cursor's Start page and our Cursor Start deal page.

Wispr Flow student plan

Open wisprflow.ai/students, sign in, and verify with a .edu email or by uploading a student ID, enrolment letter or fee receipt. The first 3 months are $0. After that the plan costs $6 a month, charged as $72 for the year. The Wispr Flow student deal page has the full steps.

Suno, Grammarly and Coursera

These three need no proof of student status.

  1. Suno: on suno.com/pricing, switch the toggle from Monthly to Annual. Taxes are added at checkout.
  2. Grammarly: on grammarly.com/plans, visitors from India see a Plus plan in place of Pro. Choose the annual option. It accepts local payment methods only.
  3. Coursera: open the Coursera Plus 40% off page, select Billed Monthly and click Save now. Our Coursera Plus deal page walks through it.

What the yearly plans save

Worked out from the monthly and yearly prices on each pricing page:

Plan12 months, billed monthly12 months, billed yearlyYou save
Suno Pro₹10,200₹8,160₹2,040
Suno Premier₹30,000₹24,000₹6,000
Grammarly Plus, per member₹12,000₹4,704₹7,296
Wispr Flow Pro₹4,800₹3,840₹960

Wispr Flow's figures are what its pricing page showed when we opened it from India: ₹320 a month on Annual and ₹400 on Monthly.

Coursera's offer works differently. Three months at ₹1,259.40 come to ₹3,778.20, against ₹6,297 at the full ₹2,099 rate, a saving of ₹2,518.80.

The catches

Yearly billing takes the whole year's payment up front. Grammarly's yearly price is less than five months of monthly billing, so it pays for itself quickly. With Suno and Wispr Flow, the yearly plan only comes out ahead if you would otherwise keep paying monthly for about 10 months.

Cursor Start has no pay-as-you-go option: when your monthly usage runs out, the AI features pause. It runs on Cursor's own models only, and once you move up to Pro you can't return to Start.

Google AI Plus renewal prices differ by country. India renews at ₹399 and the UK at £4.49, but Germany's page quotes a €21.99 monthly AI Pro renewal in its fine print. Confirm the price on the checkout screen before you pay.

Prices on all of these sites vary by country. The figures here are what the official pages showed on the dates we checked.

Checked September 25 to October 2, 2026. Each tool's own check date is on its deal page.
