Is there a GitHub Copilot student discount?
Yes. Verified students get the Copilot Student plan at $0 through GitHub Education. It is its own plan, not Copilot Pro: models are picked automatically and third-party agents are excluded.
Who counts as a student?
GitHub Education accepts students aged 13+ enrolled in a degree or diploma course, verified with a school-issued email and/or official, dated proof of enrolment.
How long does it last?
As long as you stay eligible. GitHub re-evaluates eligibility every month.
How long does activation take?
Approval and Copilot activation are separate steps. GitHub says the benefit can take several days to apply after you are verified.
