Is there a Claude student discount?
No. Anthropic says it does not offer standard discounted pricing on paid plans and support cannot issue one-off coupons. Students get Claude through their university if it has the Claude for Education plan.
Is the annual plan cheaper?
Yes. Pro is $200 billed up front for a year, which works out to $17/month instead of $20.
Does Pro include Claude Code?
Yes. The pricing page lists Claude Code as part of Pro.
What does it cost outside the US?
Anthropic prices Pro in local currency where supported and the amount varies by region. Some regions show tax in the price, others add it at checkout.

Claude and DeepSeek sit at opposite ends on price. DeepSeek's chat app costs $0 and its API bills per million tokens, from $0.15 for input on the cheapest model off-peak. Claude has a $0 plan, Pro at $20 a month or $200 a year, and Max from $100. The question is whether Claude's paid plans are worth it for what you do.
Claude and Mistral Le Chat both have a $0 plan, but Le Chat is the cheaper one to pay for, and much cheaper for students. Le Chat Pro is $14.99 a month, or $5.99 for verified students for up to 12 months. Claude Pro is $20 a month or $200 a year, has no student price, and includes Claude Code.
