The price difference, in detail
For most people making social posts or presentations, Canva alone covers the job. The $0 plan works for one person, and Pro costs $18 a month or $144 a year, with tax added at checkout. K-12 teachers and the students they invite get Canva Education at $0, and university students get Pro only if their university has bought Canva Campus.
Midjourney has no student or education discount at all, so each student needs a paid plan. Basic gives 3.3 fast GPU hours a month and no Relax mode; Standard at $30 a month ($24 billed yearly) adds unlimited Relax images, which is the plan most regular users end up on. Midjourney charges in USD only, so outside the US your bank may add a foreign transaction fee.
