Sign up for Figma with your school email. If you already have an account, change its email to your school address first.

Open figma.com/education/apply, choose your institution type (high school, higher education or bootcamp) and your role, and accept the terms.

University applicants finish the SheerID check. Bootcamp students wait for their bootcamp admin to verify them.

Once approved, create or upgrade an Education team. Its files get Professional features at $0.

Students re-verify every year and teachers every two years. Bootcamp students get six months.
Changing your account email after verification removes education status.
Figma Make and the agent are for higher education and bootcamp users only, not high school.
Self-directed learners, non-teaching school staff and nonprofits don't qualify.

Does Figma Education work outside the US?

Figma says the Education plan is only available in select regions and doesn't list which ones.

What do I pay after I graduate?

A Professional Full seat is $20/month billed monthly or $16/month billed annually. The Starter plan stays at $0 with unlimited drafts.

Can a school use Figma with students under 13?

Yes. The school signs Figma's terms for schools and gets the Enterprise plan at $0.
