How to claim it

    Open chatgpt.com/students/2026 in a web or mobile browser and sign in to the ChatGPT account you want the offer on.

  2. 02

    Follow the SheerID prompts. Depending on your school it checks records, asks for your school login, or asks for documents.

  3. 03

    Go back to the offer flow, add a payment method when asked and finish activation.

The catches

  • Renews at $20/month after the four months unless you cancel.

  • US students only, and you must claim by October 31, 2026. One redemption per person.

  • Plus subscriptions billed through the App Store or Google Play cannot take the offer.

  • Cancel early and the remaining promo months are gone. OpenAI cannot move the promo to another account.

Questions

Does my ChatGPT account need my school email?

No. The SheerID email can differ from your ChatGPT login. The offer lands on whichever account is signed in during the claim.

I already pay for Plus. Can I claim it?

Yes, if your monthly Plus is billed directly by ChatGPT and you are eligible.

I used an earlier student promo. Can I still claim?

Yes. OpenAI says an earlier student promotion does not stop you by itself.
