▸ Step by step

The Method

The ElevenLabs 12 months free startup grant gives you 33 million characters of text-to-speech, voice cloning and dubbing — worth up to $4,000. Secret normally sells access to this deal as part of a paid membership; Build in Public members get it for free.

  1. 1
    Step 1

Open buildinpublic.com/deals/elevenlabs and click "Get this deal".

  2. 2
    Step 2

Sign in with your X account (this creates a free Build in Public profile).

  3. 3
    Step 3

Follow the link to the ElevenLabs startup grant application.

  4. 4
    Step 4

Apply with your company website, company LinkedIn page and your own LinkedIn profile. Use the email on your company domain.

  5. 5
    Step 5

Describe your live product and how you use AI voice in it — be specific, this is reviewed by a person.

  6. 6
    Step 6

Once approved, the grant is applied to your ElevenLabs account (new or free-plan account). Set a reminder for month 11 so the renewal doesn't surprise you.

Checked

Verified September 2026: the deal is listed as live and has been redeemed 6,600+ times.

Is ElevenLabs really free for 12 months?

Yes, for approved startups. The grant covers 12 months and 33 million characters. It is not a public coupon — you apply and ElevenLabs approves it manually.

Can I get it without a company?

Unlikely. You need a live product or project, a company website and a company LinkedIn page. Individuals with no product usually get rejected.

Why go through Build in Public?

The same deal is sold behind Secret's paid membership. Build in Public gives its members access for free — you only need an X account to sign in.

Heads up

This is a startup grant, not a coupon — ElevenLabs reviews every application by hand. Solo users with no website or product will most likely be rejected. Existing paid ElevenLabs accounts can't use it (new or free-plan accounts only). Not available for projects built for children under 18.
